Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it’s getting!
Pride Month has past and I haven’t written this newsletter in a dog’s age!
Reader, how do I fill you in on the gaps of my life since last I wrote you? How do I recount the Bröntesque love affair, brief moments of joy succumb to longer periods of treachery, grief, disease, and harrowing despair?
I’ll try to keep it brief so that we may proceed to gayer pastures. I loved a man. He told his tales, infecting my mental and physical health along the way. But I’ve survived and healed. I started writing my story days after we broke up: the story of becoming my queer confident self through drag.
I’m very proud and grateful to say that I published my first article in HuffPost! Check it out below:
I'm A 'Baby Queen.' Here's Why We Should Be Scared For Our Kids (And It's Not Because Of Drag).
Some of you have even followed my newsletter and socials from this article! To all of you: thank you so much for supporting the work of a funny, queer little fuck. Please continue to support all the fabulous queer artists and other queer little fucks out there! In fact, that’s what this newsletter is about. Let’s celebrate some queer people post-Pride!
Get In Queers, We’re Going Priding…Again!
I want Pride to go out with a bang, meaning I’m going to bombard you with autistic ramblings on queer artists and content creators I’m obsessed with.
Oh boy! I hope you’re ready because here comes the choo choo train!
BTW this isn’t a list of “best queer people” or a hierarchy…I made it a “top 10” list because…fuck you, that’s why.
Emilia Fart, Singer/Former YouTuber
Since her last public solo YouTube video in November 2021, Ms. Fart recently released a single with her sister titled “Like Her Before,” under the name Em & Dzeej. For nearly a decade, Fart made videos like “Having a Nervous Breakdown While Eating Spaghetti in a Bathtub” and “Why I Dress Like an Obese, Deranged Judge Judy,” speaking candidly about her struggles with mental illness, sexual abuse, and eating disorders while rocking feather boas and bold, colorful eye makeup.
Kat Blaque, YouTuber/Multimedia Artist
Trans YouTuber and artist Kat Blaque has been making videos since the early days of YouTube and continues to make funny, witty, and earnest videos on topics such as kink at pride, groomers, polyamory, and hot takes on pop culture (Dave Chapelle, The Little Mermaid, etc.). Blaque was a YouTuber before it was “cool” and profitable, yet she rarely gets credit for her vast contributions to the platform.
ContraPoints (Natalie Wynn), YouTuber
Natalie Wynn, AKA ContraPoints, is not everyone’s cup of tea. But anyone who doesn’t want a sip of her is probably transphobic or really fucking boring. ContraPoints’s videos aren’t just video essays on queerness and social justice, they’re art. Rife with Wildean wit, extravagant sets, gorgeous wigs matched with glamorous fits and makeup, ContraPoints puts the “A+” in aesthetic. Even if you loath her, you have to give dark mother her due…these videos are quality, sis.
Miss Lady Salad (Shawn Escarciga), Meme Creator/Multimedia Artist
Scrolling through the Instagram meme page @missladysalad (Miss Lady Salad) is like falling down the rabbit hole into Wonderland. This cyberspace Wonderland is a queer dystopia rife with surrealist imagery, pop culture icons, and ironic commentary. Created by comedic performance artist and queer activist Shawn Escarciga, Miss Lady Salad is a meme page for cynical f slurs hungry to eat the rich. Num! Num! Darling! Dark, weird, and hilarious! You simply must follow to see for yourselves…
Erma Fiend/Sweaty Eddie, Digital Artist/Drag King
Erma Fiend’s GIFs are genderfucky animated selfies that endure grotesque transformations, as if being tortured by the Cenobites from Hellraiser. Here, Fiend’s horror surrealistic graphic art incorporates parts of his drag persona Sweaty Eddie, a grinning John Waters type fellow with a penchant for long prop arms. Confused? Go see his recent audition for America’s Got Talent.
Theodoor Grimes (gggrimes), Digital Artist
Black nonbinary artist Theodoor Grimes makes colorful queer illustrations for horny queer little sluts like you! It’s Hentai. It’s color pop. And it’s fabulous!!! His work is all about centering Black queer sex, love, and magic. I’ve bought several of their prints and I’m quite enamored with the luscious collection I’m acquiring!
Veya, Artist
This image went viral on Twitter after Conservative Kool-Aid drinker Lauren Witzke posted it as a Christian propaganda meme. Ironically, the image was created by queer trans artist Veya (fae/faer) and has been circulating the internet since April 2022 (when fae posted it). I vividly remember seeing this last year and was screaming at my phone when nobody recalled the origins of the “Pride Demon,” as I now call this image. Check out this article from Them to find out more about Veya!
Jory (Alluring Skull), TikTok Creator
Jory is really fucking pretty. She makes funny, entertaining, and educational videos on social justice and internet culture. Watching her speak openly about her transition—she came out as a trans woman this year—gave me immense pride this Pride! She also raised $1 million for trans healthcare through a live stream with fellow creator Mercury Stardust! Honestly, Jory is the type of content creator I strive to emulate: fashionable, witty, thought-provoking, and just GORGEOUS! Shoutout to her partner and behind-the-scenes creator too! We love you Max <3
Chrissy Chlapecka, TikTok Creator/Singer
Another gorgeous, gorgeous girl, Chrissy Chlapecka is a #bimbotok queen turned pop icon! I first discovered her on TikTok teaching fellow girls, gays, and theys how to be a leftist hottie. After all, we should smash the patriarchy with pink glittery hammers and it’s time we own that! Following her debut single “I’m So Hot,” Chlapecka is currently making queer history with her sapphic hyperpop hit “Head Bitch.” Be more gay and give it a listen!
Dylan Mulvaney, TikTok Creator/Actress
I’m going to say this once and hopefully never again: be nice to Dylan Mulvaney! This poor woman just want to spread trans joy and drink beer without transphobic alcoholics poking flame torches and pitchforks up her ass! She spoke with President Biden about trans health care! She goes on TikTok and tells trans people to love themselves. She’s a goddamn national treasure. STOP BEING MEAN TO THIS WOMAN!!! Stop.
And that’s my list! Happy belated pride, gays!
